Whispering Pines, a Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility, is located in the quaint little town of Winnsboro, yet conveniently located to area physicians and medical facilities. Whispering Pines specializes in providing friendly family oriented nursing care. Whether the need is for short-term therapy, short-term care, long-term care, or even hospice care, the atmosphere at Whispering Pines is the perfect place to experience the quiet country surroundings without compromising quality medical care.

Locally owned and operated, well-trained staff help meet the unique needs of our residents by actively participating in their daily lives.

Making the Decision

The decision to place a loved one in a long term nursing care facility is not an easy one. Acknowledging that someone you love and cherish needs constant nursing care that neither you nor another family member can provide is the first step in the decision making process for the future of your loved one.

Typical reactions of family members may include doubt, guilt, fear and frustration. The realization that some one who cared and nurtured us now needs care is often overwhelming, unpleasant and stressful. The professional caring staff at Whispering Pines fully understands your anxieties and would like to help ease your burden by making this task as easy as possible.

In view of the fact that the choosing of the proper long term nursing care and rehabilitation facility becomes a crucial decision. The staff of Whispering Pines is entrusted to administering quality care for each facility resident. Whispering Pines provides a safe secure atmosphere with 24-hour nursing care and scheduled daily activities to promote the physical and mental well being of residents.

Residents of Whispering Pines will not be denied appropriate care upon the premise of race, religion, sex, color, national origin, age, handicap, marital status or method of payment.

Whispering Pines offers many services that may help to enhance your loved one's physical and mental condition. The decision to place a loved one in a long term nursing care facility is not an easy one. (see Making the Decision below). Our purpose and mission is to provide each resident with a stimulating environment and assistance that is conducive to achieving their maximum potential. Residents are encouraged to bring their own clothing, personal care items, and familiar furnishings from home if space is available (see Personal Home Environment below).

Therapy Department
Our highly skilled and educated team of physical, occupational and speech therapist specialize in progressive rehabilitation and are qualified to treat a variety of complex conditions (see Rehabilitative Services).

Restorative Program
Whispering Pines provides a restorative program once goals have been reached in therapy.

Activity Department
The holistic approach is utilized with our Activities Program in which we strive to promote the physical, mental and spiritual well being of the residents (see Activities Page). An Activity Director (Terri Ezell) provides continuous and numerous activities for the patients.

Nutrition Department
A Dietary Supervisor oversees all menus and special diets as prescribed by the physician. All food is prepared in a clean, highly efficient kitchen. The front dining room is arranged to provide a more homelike environment for residents that are not in need of supervision. The main dining hall is a bright and cheering facility for all residents that choose to eat in a supervised environment. (Dining Room Picture here)

Medical Department
Once again we utilize the holistic approach in providing quality care to our residents.
